Daemon is a Microsoft Innovation Solutions Partner, specialising in Azure

We’re always searching for new ways to help businesses manage their digital footprint. When it comes to cloud computing, more and more businesses are choosing Microsoft Azure. Its popularity is growing quickly, hitting an all-time high 25% of market share in 2024. That’s why Daemon has invested in our Microsoft Azure capability for 2024.

Daemon is a fully validated Microsoft Digital & App Innovation Solutions Partner. We have chosen to be a Microsoft Azure specialist, able to support even more businesses with their cloud needs.

Why Daemon chose to be an Azure partner

We’re grateful to have Harry Azariah, Daemon’s own Principal in Daemon’s cloud practice. We chatted to Harry about why Microsoft Azure is such an exciting partnership for us.

“Daemon’s multi-cloud proficiency in both Azure and AWS sets us apart in the marketplace. We’re really excited to be a one-stop-shop for our clients.”

Harry joined Daemon 6 months ago to grow our cloud capabilities. Although Harry is a Microsoft Azure specialist, he also has dual expertise in AWS, bringing us a lot of versatility.

Even though Daemon is a Microsoft Digital App & Innovation Solutions Partner, we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re also doubling down on Data & AI, to further establish us with Azure and enable us to help our clients grow.

What sets Microsoft Azure apart

Microsoft Azure is an incredible platform for both growing and established businesses. It has a number of cool features that turn cloud headaches into a doddle. We’ve cherry-picked a few, but there are numerous ways that Azure can be a game changer for your business.

Built for large enterprises

Microsoft Azure comes into its own with large businesses because many are already embedded with Microsoft technologies. Most large enterprises already host their servers with Microsoft, or use Office 365 across their business, which is probably why more than 95% of Fortune 500 companies choose Azure. Azure can scale to meet the demands of application usage, even with really busy enterprises. This adaptability is great if your business has a big app workload or heavy traffic needs.

It’s also fair to say that most modern productivity tooling is also provided by Microsoft. All this means that moving to a Microsoft Azure Cloud provision is a natural progression for big business.

It’s cost effective

Microsoft Azure is a cost-effective Cloud option for enterprise, because businesses that already use Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server OS or Microsoft SQL receive preferential rates. Here’s what Harry has to say about it:

“If you have a large Microsoft footprint i.e.  you use Windows or SQL Server, then it tends to be cheaper to consume Azure over any other cloud provider.”

As these businesses often host their ecosystems with this software, it’s easy to transport as well as being more efficient.

Industry-leading  in Security & Data & AI

Microsoft is one of the world’s largest spenders on security development. This commitment from Microsoft to staying ahead means that Azure is one of the best options for keeping data secure. The Microsoft cloud security benchmark is available to help all the services in Azure stay well maintained and protected.

Microsoft is now viewed as an industry-leading player in the CyberSecurity space. Azure offers all sorts of ways to manage security across your Azure estate through its Defender for Cloud offering. Defender for Cloud can manage, monitor, and protect against security threats across your other clouds (AWS and GCP) and on-premises locations.

Microsoft is also making big waves in the Data & AI field having extended their partnership with the OpenAI group to bring popular services such as ChatGPT to businesses through the Azure platform, and hosting PaaS offerings for other well-known services such as Databricks and Redis.

Azure in practice: Case study

Our Cloud Principal, Harry, has worked on several high-profile projects involving Azure. We asked him why Azure is unique in helping large, security-focused businesses scale by moving old, constrained data centres to the cloud, and how its API management has helped businesses innovate their API usage:

We worked with an entertainment company to implement Azure API Management. For this client, the technology enabled them to reuse APIs across multiple systems. We helped them to release an online platforming system, with API management to put different APIs behind all their local statements. This allowed them enormous flexibility and the ability to quickly reuse APIs.”

Get a competitive edge

We’re excited to add this new string to our bow at Daemon. Microsoft Azure is a great fit for businesses of all sizes, and boasts a large range of Platform as a Service (PaaS), enabling you to deploy applications/workloads without worrying about server management, and can give all sorts of businesses a competitive advantage.

Our vision is to be a one-stop cloud engineering shop for our clients, able to provision both Azure and AWS. You’ll get the same level of Daemon service and quality, but can select the right cloud provider to perfectly suit your business.
